Truck crashes peaked during the late 1980s, then dropped significantly in the early 1990s. The road toll for heavy vehicles has been in decline over the last decade, despite the significant growth in number of vehicles, and kilometres travelled. Through continued initiatives, the Transport Industry, and Government Agencies actively seek to ensure the downward trend remains.
